The Start of SpaceX

I'm reading Elon Musk's biography, detailing his tumultuous and triumphant journey. The good parts, the not-so-good parts, and today — the early beginnings of SpaceX.

Being a small, scrappy startup, they were subtly rejected from using the "Big Boys'" launch site at Vandenberg, and instead found a small island — Kwaj, in the Kwajalein Atoll — just off Hawaii. It's there where they blew up their first 3 rockets on a homemade launchpad, and also… I'll find out in the next chapter.
